Hind Haidar began her hairdressing career in the late 1990s in Hollywood, California and then in NYC where she worked in celebrity salons and did freelance editorial hairstyling. She specializes in precision haircutting and razor cutting and natural looking, lived in hair color, gray transitions as well as custom hair extensions. When Hind opened the Cutting Room she knew she wanted to create something different than what she had experienced in her years in the beauty industry.

Her commitment to sustainability and creating a low-toxin environment within her salon is a testament to her dedication to her clients and stylists’ well-being and the well-being of the planet. She also realized that toxicity was not only in the products being used but in the culture of the industry. Practices such as gendered pricing, retail benchmarks, double and triple booking, and relying on tips for income were causing harm to stylists and clients alike.

She wanted to create a space where stylists could focus on growing in their craft and have work-life balance, and where clients could receive a truly customized and affirming experience.
